Christopher Brown is Mechanical & Materials Engineering professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) with PhD, MS, and BS degrees from the University of Vermont (1983). His studies have included fracture testing, metal cutting, mechanical metallurgy, surface metrology. He has also worked in product and process development. At WPI he started the Surface Metrology Lab, Haas Technical Education Center for CNC machining, and the Sports Engineering Lab. He has developed graduate and undergraduate courses in design of manufacturing processes, surface metrology, manufacturing engineering, and the technology of alpine skiing. He is a prolific researcher, publisher, lecturer, and consultant for industry, surface metrology, and sports engineering.
