Dr. Anke Guenther has an education as a mechanic, an engineer diploma in electrical engineering and a doctor’s degree in production engineering/ bevel gear metrology at University of Bremen, Germany. Her academic experience covers project and team works with metrological reference for Mahr GmbH (Germany), at Hexagon Metrology (Leitz, Germany), at The Gleason Works (USA) and in the past 5 years Reishauer AG (Switzerland). For three years she gives lectures in workpiece and machine tool metrology at the ETH in Zuerich. Dr. Guenther’s main expertise is in gear metrology, dimensional metrology, sensor development and data fusion. Since more than 20 years she is directly involved in several standardization committees like VDI, DIN and does preliminary work for ISO, latterly for Swissmem also. Since 2002 she promotes for the VDI every 3 years the VDI conference for gear metrology and published since 2011 several papers at CIRP annals. Frequently she reviews for the journal Measurement, several conferences like VDI, ICE or euspen and is special assessor for the AiF (German Federation of Industrial Research Associations). Dr. Guenther has been a member of the European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology for 3 years.
